The two-storey 16th Century Wealden style farmhouse has a timber frame with a 17th century bakehouse and four-bay cart barn.

The original timber and plaster infill can still be seen exposed in the north wall. The other walls have been refaced with red brick and then painted.
The farmhouse features a classic gallery hallway that links the rooms on the ground floor, including a formal dining room. The main living room features an big red brick fireplace and the original oak timber beams. A wooden staircase leads up to the first floor. The building has three bays with a casement window in each and a traditional reed thatched roof.
The farmhouse has a lawn around it, fruit trees, flower beds and vegetable garden and a pathway leads to a large barn with double doors.
Did you know?
In 1933 the barn became the site of one of the oldest scouting units in England, the 1st Southbourne Sea Scouts, which now meets at the Scout hut on Prinsted foreshore.

The photo below shows a Royal Navy inspection of one of the early Scout meetings in the barn and Charles Brundrett, the founder of Southbourne Sea Scouts, at the door of Walnut Tree Farmhouse.
The farmhouse is Grade II listed with Historic England.
